A New Beginning

The Journey Begins!

Earlier this year, my wife and I decided to move across the big pond from the US and settle down to retire in the estate she had inherited from  her grandfather.  After weeks of packing and preparation (a story in its own right, for another time in another place), we finally made it to our new home in the outskirts of Blois, France.  We moved in (goods shipped from the states notwithstanding) to our beautiful spacious home on beautiful sprawling (though a bit overgrown for now) grounds overlooking the river Loire.  Many renovations were already completed or well in progress, as we were originally going to put the property on the market.  We made our rounds through the house and made it upstairs where renovations were not as far along.  Furnishings were cleared, walls were painted, but bare and the floors stripped down to the concrete.  We entered what used to be Grandfather’s library, a HUGE room with plenty of space in all directions and even a little alcove on one end to do something creative.  Aside from being on the upper floor, this should make for an ideal music studio.  I think we can work with this, so…

The good news:  I get to build my studio from the ground up!

The bad news:  I have to build my studio from the ground up!
